Join Mark Bowers and the Botanical Society of Western PA for a late winter walk through this 58-acre woodland. We will briefly look at specimens of common woody shrubs and trees at the trailhead parking lot of the Ackermann Reserve before heading out on the trails of the Reserve to learn how to identify woody species that are growing there. We will also discuss the geology of the area and how it may affect the vegetation that grows there.
Meeting will be at the Westmoreland Conservation District Barn and may also be attended remotely by Zoom videoconference. Please contact the WLT at 724 325-3031 or [email protected] if you would like to participate in the meeting.
