We’re excited to celebrate the winning entry in Westmoreland Land Trust’s Fall 2026 Photo Contest! Individuals were asked in the month of October to submit their photography from one of our properties. This charming photograph, taken by Westmoreland County resident Daniel Cowell at Ackermann Nature Preserve, captures one of nature’s smallest and most entertaining residents, reminding us that some of the most memorable wildlife encounters happen right in our own backyards and natural spaces. Our photo contest was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate local wildlife, encourage nature photography, and inspire people to take a closer look at the animals that share our environment.
