More Ways to Give

Become a Monthly Sustainer

Monthly giving provides reliable, year-round support that helps us plan for the future and respond to emerging conservation opportunities. Recurring gifts let us care for protected lands and expand education programs.

Donate

A one-time gift provides flexible support for our highest priorities — land conservation, habitat restoration, stewardship, and environmental education. Gifts of any size help protect the places that make Westmoreland County special.

GIVING

Nine Paths, One Shared Landscape

From a one-time grant from your donor-advised fund to a planned gift that spans generations, here are the conservation-minded options our donors use most often.

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

A donor-advised fund is a simple, tax-efficient way to support conservation. If you have a DAF through a community foundation, financial institution, or charitable sponsor, you can recommend a grant to Westmoreland Land Trust at any time.

Estate Planning

One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will or living trust. Including Westmoreland Land Trust in your estate plans makes a lasting investment in conservation without affecting your finances during your lifetime.

Corporate Sponsorships & In-Kind Donations

Businesses can support us through charitable contributions, sponsorships, employee volunteer projects, matching gift programs, or in-kind donations of goods and services — strengthening conservation while investing in the community.

Gifts of Stock & Securities

Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds may offer significant tax advantages while supporting land conservation. These gifts can let donors avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a deduction for the full market value.

Memorial Trees, Benches & Gifts

Create a lasting tribute within one of our preserves by sponsoring a memorial tree or bench. These gifts honor loved ones while enhancing public access to protected lands.

IRA Giving

If you are age 70½ or older, you may make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA. Qualified Charitable Distributions can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution while supporting our mission.

Planned Giving

A planned gift leaves a lasting conservation legacy while protecting the lands you cherish. Through your estate plans, future generations will continue to benefit from preserved natural areas, wildlife habitat, and education.

Charitable Trusts

A charitable remainder trust can provide income to you or loved ones during your lifetime, with remaining assets supporting the Land Trust. A charitable lead trust supports us for a set period, after which assets pass to your heirs.

Gifts of Real Estate

Donating land or other real estate offers significant conservation benefits and potential tax advantages. Donated properties may be protected, stewarded, or sold to support future conservation efforts.

GIFT

Your Gift Makes Land Protection Possible

Every gift helps Westmoreland Land Trust permanently protect land, care for the land entrusted to us, and inspire the next generation through hands-on education. Together, our supporters have helped conserve more than 740 acres, protect 15 properties, and connect 6,500+ children with nature each year.
