The Turtle Creek Gorge is celebrated for its biodiversity, serving as an important natural greenway and an officially recognized Core Habitat by the Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Program. The property protects a remarkable stretch of the Gorge, reserving mature forest, towering rock outcroppings, and the natural beauty experienced by nearly 180,000 visitors to the Westmoreland Heritage Trail each year.

This acquisition represents nearly two years of collaboration among private landowners, fellow conservation organizations, philanthropic partners, local government, and dedicated community members to permanently protect one of Westmoreland County’s most scenic and ecologically significant landscapes.
