Help Protect the Places You Love

The Westmoreland Land Trust is powered by volunteers. Every trail maintained, tree planted, educational program supported, and acre stewarded is possible because people choose to give their time.

Whether you’re an individual, family, corporate team, scout troop, school group, or community organization, there are opportunities to make a meaningful impact. No experience is necessary—we’ll provide the training, tools, and guidance.

Our preserves are cared for year-round by dedicated volunteer Lead Stewards who coordinate projects, monitor property conditions, welcome volunteers, and help ensure each preserve remains healthy and accessible.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Seton Hill University

Westmoreland Land Trust partnered with Seton Hill University to host Growing Together: An Earth Day Celebration in 2026, bringing over 100 students, faculty, staff, and community members together for a day of hands-on education and environmental stewardship at St. Xavier Nature Preserve.

Over the spring semester, senior students planned the event as part of their seminar class then implemented it in partnership with Westmoreland Land Trust at St. Xavier Nature Preserve. Numerous interactive activities, demonstrations, and games led by student volunteers were held in addition to a community tree planting.
