Westmoreland Land Trust Hunting Agreement for the Ackermann Preserve

The Westmoreland Land Trust allows deer hunting on the Otto and Magdalene Ackermann Nature Preserve (hereby referred to as “the Preserve”) for ecological purposes only, and on a by-permit-only basis. As a permitted hunter, I understand and agree to all the conditions listed below:

· Only antlerless deer hunting using archery equipment is allowed on the Ackermann Preserve.

· Hunting is by permit only, awarded on an annual basis. I will carry my permit card on my person while hunting on the Preserve and will have my vehicle placard displayed while parked at the Preserve for hunting purposes.

· I will abide by all Pennsylvania hunting regulations and seasons and bag limits set

· I will abide by all Pennsylvania hunting regulations and seasons and bag limits set forth and enforced by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC). A valid hunting license and antlerless ear tag for this Wildlife Management Unit, WMU 2B, are required.
· For 2018-2019, there will be two hunting seasons:

*Note: Hunting will not take place in the early part of Season #1.

· I will hunt only in the season for which I receive a WLT permit.
· Parking is allowed only in the parking area for the Preserve, entered at the Preservesign on Ardara Road. Vehicle placards must be displayed on the dashboard while
hunting.
· This permit allows for hunting only within the boundaries of the Preserve, and noton other properties owned by Westmoreland Land Trust or Westmoreland County
Parks. Boundaries of the Preserve are marked with yellow vinyl sign on trees.
· Tree stands may be used, but must be labeled, legibly and on a tag made of durablematerial, with the hunter’s rst and last name and legal home address, or with the hunter’s CID number from the hunting license. Tree stands may not be attached in any way that permanently damages the tree. Tree stands may be placed no more than two weeks before the start of the season and must be removed by the dates shown below. Any stands remaining after this date become property of Westmoreland Land Trust.

a deer, or not, to Westmoreland Land Trust by February 9, 2019 via emailing [email protected] or mailing a copy, photo, or screenshot of their hunter report card to Westmoreland Land Trust 218 Donohoe Road Greensburg, PA 15601.

The Permittee is bound by all Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation rules and ordinances as though they were inserted herein. To view the Westmoreland County Park Ordinances visit the link to the Parks and Recreation homepage at www.co.westmoreland.pa.us. The Permittee hereby agrees to hold the County and the Westmoreland Land Trust harmless for any and all claims or damages or injuries to persons or property resulting from the violations of any aforementioned rules, regulations or ordinances and will be responsible for the group’s behavior and/or actions.

The Pennsylvania Act 179 of 1988 “The Volunteer-In-Public Service Negligence Standard Act” protects both volunteers and organizations from lawsuit and civil damages when providing recreational services.
